ADDRESS BY THE INAUGURAL GRAND MASTER

AT THE CONSECRATION ON 5th.November 2022

Warm and fraternal greetings to all my brethren assembled here today on this auspicious day of 05th.November 2022. The Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malaysia (G.L.M.) has now opened the gateway to all upright and free-thinking gentlemen to join an organization that will primarily serve the desires and visions necessary in a growing world without borders.                                                                                                                                

Such desires for regional growth and association of pluralistic cultures must be promoted rather than restrained as such restrictions clearly attempt to pay lip service to the term ‘universal brotherhood’. The Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malaysia recognizes the universal mission of masons in promoting service to all humans and the spread of true wisdom with an undivided desire to serve with the universal aim as described in the phrase of ‘Faith, Hope and Charity’. This phrase expressing service may be expressed in the National Language of Malaysia as “Keimanan, Harapan, Amal Jariah”.     

Henceforth the Malaysia masonic fraternity under the banner of the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malaysia calls upon all citizens and brethren to fully embrace unfettered loyalty to our country Malaysia and to our Supreme Ruler, our King ‘Duli Yang Maha Mulia Yang Di Pertuan Agong’ and to all the Sultans and Rulers of every State in Malaysia.

It is our vision and hope to operate masonic lodges in all the States of Malaysia and to freely induct and initiate right minded gentlemen who share the same principles of ‘brotherly love relief and truth’ in their hearts and to extend their charity to all. Today, as a first step forward in building regional masonic friendship and brotherhood in the Asia-Pacific Region the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malaysia takes pride in announcing that we signed four (4) treaties of amity and rights of visitation with the following Grand Lodges in the Asia Pacific Region namely:-

  • The United Grand Lodges of India, comprising of The Grand Lodge of South India, & The Grand Lodge of Upper India.
  • The Grand Lodge of Queensland Australia.
  • The Gran Logia Nacional de Filipinas (National Grand Lodge of the Philippines)  

To kick start our assistance in nation building and promoting the cultivation of responsible citizenship across all races in this our Malaysian plural society, the Sovereign Grand Lodge of Malaysia as the mother body, and through its three (3) founding Daughter Lodges namely.

Lodge Muhibbah No.01 G.L.M.,

Lodge Taming Sari No.02 G.L.M. and

Lodge Bunga Raya No.03 GLM,

will now have the task and freedom to recruit good and level thinking Malaysia Citizens of all faiths and endeavor to return to the social examples that existed during our pre-independent era when goodness and the ‘MUHIBAH’ (Goodwill) spirit prevailed in this our beautiful country Malaysia and its Asia-Pacific Region.

May The All Embracing Almighty bless us with strength so that we may continue to promote unity in our neighborhood and Nation Building in this Asean region.
